We’ve called this a Pinot Noir but essentially this wine is a Pinot Noir rosato i.e. a nod to Italian style rose. We hand picked our H Block Pinot (Pommard clone), de-stemmed and left the juice in contact with skins for three days before pressing to older oak for fermentation. The extended maceration time has resulted in a more robust style rose with intense cranberry and wild strawberry flavours and a tangy, slightly grippy finish. This wine spent nine months aging on lees until bottling early summer.
