Tropicana Blanc 2021


I have been pestering Dad to rip up his Verdelho for probably ten years now, he was suprised when I asked him for the fruit. It’s a thick skinned white variety so I figured it would be perfect for a textural, baby skin contact wine. The final blend is 50% Verdelho, 40% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Chardonnay. Fermented on skins for one week (except the Chardonnay, which was one month on skins), aged in older oak for three months then bottled early for freshness. Wild ferment, no acid adds, no fining or filtering. It’s full of tropical vibes and citrus with great texture and mouth filling phenolics. Super fun drinking, with or without food.
