Hi, I'm James :)

I have worked in the wine industry for over fifteen years, both in Australia and California. I was fortunate that my Dad planted some grape vines when I was fifteen and I now get to use beautiful fruit from our glorious site to make wine. We use organic practices in the vineyard (although we’re not certified.. yet) and I like to make what I call low additive wines. To me, this means hand picking fruit, being gentle in the winery and getting the wine to bottle without filtration or too much other manipulation. I aim to make fresh, bright, interesting wines that are easy to drink but also sometimes make you think.

I love our vineyard, but I have used fruit from some of our Kuitpo neighbours to make our wine. I may expand my search for fruit to other areas of the Adelaide Hills or even other regions. I especially love McLaren Vale Grenache.

Outside of wine, I love surfing, and music, and Port Adelaide Football Club. I especially love punk, hardcore and metal music (i.e anything heavy or fast) and my all-time two favourite bands are Killswitch Engage and Sublime
