For years, I was telling Dad that he should remove his precious Verdelho vines.. he was surprised when I asked him for the fruit. It's a thick-skinned white variety so I figured it would be perfect for a textural, user-friendly orange wine. Fermented on skins for one week, aged in older oak for six months then bottled sans fining and filtration. The 2024 Tropicana is a blend of Chardonnay, Verdelho and Sauvignon Blanc. It's full of tropical fruits and citrus, with great texture and tangy acidity. Super fun drinking, with or without food.
